what the world needs-another sports blog

This website is an experiment in determining whether I want to write a blog to express my thoughts on many topics that I care about.  I am assisted by my more tech-savvy sister, an aspiring web designer.  A theme of this site will be to write about conferences, leagues, and sports that are often overlooked by other sources.  Other themes may develop from my varied other interests.

The goals of this blog will be to inform and entertain anyone who reads this, and for me to practice writing and expressing myself to an audience wider than just my friends who happen to be around when I have an opinion on random things.

rob best

content writer

Rob wanted an outlet to write some of his views about sports and a platform to support smaller sports that are often overlooked.  A graduate of a small liberal-arts college (Emory and Henry College in Emory, Virginia) and an avid roller skater, he became frustrated that there was little coverage of NCAA Division II, the sport of roller skating, and other minor sports.  He wanted to change that, so he is starting this blog.

Rob’s bucket list goal is to attend as many different overlooked sporting events as possible.  He has already personally attended nineteen different sports competitions and watched many more on television.  He supports or follows a number of different sports teams across several continents, including Notts County Football Club, the Baltimore Orioles, and the North Carolina Courage.

Right now, I am the only contributor to this site.  My wonderful sister (who is already linked to this page) is the web designer and administrator.

Other writers, if and when they come, will be my friends who share some of the same interests and want to express their thoughts and opinions.
